CARE FOR AIDS PROGRAM

The Care for AIDS Program works to support HIV/AIDS families in the slum areas. Our vision is “a world where no story is cut short/silenced by AIDS” and our mission is “embracing and equipping people to live a life beyond AIDS”. At our center, we support 80 HIV/AIDS Adults through food support, skills seminars where they receive training in livelihood skills like art and craft, hairdressing, soap making, etc. We also offer Group therapy, one-on- one counseling and follow up home visits, for support to clients for ART compliance.

For the period under review, the center has:

• Provided over 3000 kgs of beans
• Provided over 1920 “ special immune booster packages” (including 1 pack powdered milk, 1 boiled egg and 1 yellow banana)
• Led 24 members to accept Jesus and are now regular church members at WoLCC
• 43 members now have suppressed viral loads due to the food support given.

Approx. 50 of the 80 beneficiaries are now able to support themselves using the skills set given to them.
