Martha is a jolly and friendly girl in primary five who dreams of becoming a chef one day. Her favorite food is smoked fish with cassava, loves the color blue and loves to play dodge ball with her friends during her spare time. 

Martha has three sisters who are all under the care of their single mother. Their father died two years ago of a boda boda accident. The mother washes clothes for living and she can barely manage to keep a roof over her kids heads and feed them. This makes education an option  for them.
