Faridah and her two siblings are under the care of their single mum who washes clothes for other people in the community to earn a living. She recently added selling foodstuffs in the market to increase her income. Faridah and her brothers help their mum to wash clothes and to also sell in the market when they are not in school.  

Faridah is an active and happy girl who enjoys mathematics and reading books. She hopes to be a doctor some day so that she can earn enough to provide for her mum so that she does not have to work as much. Her favorite color is white and she enjoys eating rice and meat.
