Developer Jagex has launched the mobile version of the long-running MMORPG RuneScape into Early Access. RuneScape Mobile is now available for download on the the Google play store for Android users. iOS mobile users will need to wait until sometime next year. The game is also set to fully launch in 2020.
The much-loved Double XP Weekend Event is returning to RuneScape this month and it will last for 72 hours. From July 26th through July 29th, all players will receive XP bonuses. Those with RuneScape membership benefits will receive +100% XP earned. Free players will get a smaller +20% XP earned.
Jagex has announced that a new expansion, titled ‘The Land Out Of Time’ is coming to the popular MMORPG RuneScape this summer. A lush jungle island, Anachronia has been dragged from the ancient past by the new antagonist Kerapac. Players will set out into the dino-inhabited land to track and stop the new enemy’s evil plans.
Jagex and Amazon’s Twitch are collaborating once more to bring free RuneScape memberships and oodles of in-game loots to Twitch Prime members. From now through August, Twitch Prime members will be able to claim four different offers each month. For the first month, members will be rewarded with a whole month of free membership for both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape.
The year has just begun and Jagex has already laid out loads of the new content that RuneScape players can expect over the next few months. Community Manager Mod Shauny has showcased the game updates that are planned for release over the course of the next four months or so.
RuneScape’s 18th birthday on January 4th will bring back the celebratory in-game item ‘Anniversary cake’. The main event will be on January 7th when Mining and Smithing skills get a full rework. Mining rocks will no longer make them deplete, so players will not have to hop worlds to find them. The tiers of ore and metal also will require the same level to mine and smith as they do to wear the gear made with them. Player-owned farms will get improvements with newly purchasable animal stables and farmhands to hire.
