MapleStory 2 English Closed Beta On May 9th – Sign Ups Available!
The rumors floating around the MapleStory 2 communities were true! Today Nexon has announced that MapleStory 2, the 3D counter-part of the old-school side-scroll MMORPG MapleStory will have an English release soon and Closed Beta is just around the corner. All wheels have begun turning as MapleStory 2’s official site and social media profiles become publicly available.
When and how can I participate?
MapleStory 2’s Closed Beta will begin on May 9, 2018 and end on May 16, 2018 (one week). Sign up is open from April 14, 2018 until May 6, 2018.
You can sign up for the Closed Beta on the newly released MapleStory 2 site. You can complete the roadtrip event by sharing MapleStory 2 on social media in return for rewards that will be redeemable in CBT. The first 10,000 participants to complete the roadtrip event will be automatically accepted in CBT. Keep in mind that it cannot be fully completed until April 30th since most of the required entries will only become available on set days.
On top of this upcoming English version, MapleStory 2 currently has a Korean version and a Chinese version. If you’re super eager to jump into the 3D maple world, we’ve written a step-by-step guide on how to play the Chinese version.

there is an english patch..
There was no English patch for the Chinese version when I played. The CMS2 community had to rely on translated images from KMS2 like this: https://imgur.com/a/x1NJO and OCR image translation from our phones for some time.
Really hoping this game does well! I enjoyed the CN version, but I only finished the first raid, and I remember the KR community complained a lot about the lack of content in endgame. Hopefully it does well here, but it’s probably going to push away a lot of people who wanted a style closer to the first MS, and all the people who got tired of waiting for the game.
