Jagex has announced that the release date for both the iOS and Android versions of Old School RuneScape is set as October 30th. Fans and new players can pre-order and pre-register for any version on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

“In order for us to move Old School RuneScape into the pre-order and pre-register stage, we’re required to remove the beta build from the Google Play store. This means that those of you without the Members beta installed will not be able to access the app until its full release on October 30th. If you have access via the Members beta, the iOS closed beta, or you’re located in an area in which we’ve soft launched (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden), then you’ll be able to continue playing right up until the full release.”

Runescape Classic Bids Farewell – All Servers Will Shut Down On August 6th

RuneScape-Classic-Shut-Down-Date-and-Final-Goodbyes

Jagex has announced that RuneScape Classic will be shutting down in a few months partly due to exploits. They explain that with advances in technology to further support both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, their tools are no longer compatible with the Classic version. In particular, the tools for detecting macro’s and ensuring community safety. This action will ensure that the abuse of 3rd party macro tools and the ever increasing botting issue will end.

Jagex is giving a two and a half month heads up for players to have the opportunity to have their last goodbyes. The RuneScape Classic servers will be taken offline on August 6, 2018 8:00 AM BST. Players can continue to play as normal until that date. Meanwhile, Old School RuneScape has already begun beta testing for its mobile version and RuneScape’s mobile version is not far behind.
