Project: Gorgon has released a new demo version for those who are on the fence about purchasing the game. Anyone can download the free-trial version from the Steam Store page. The demo does not limit anyone’s playtime or explorable areas, but limits certain actions. There’s a decent number of limitations for free players that are listed below.

Project Gorgon is an indie developed MMORPG that is focused on providing a high-quality Player vs Environment experience. The game goes against a lot of the typical convenience features seen in other new MMOs to come out in the recent years like auto-pathing and offers a more old-school MMORPG experience reminiscent of games like Asheron’s Call and EverQuest. It’s brought to life by Eric Heimburg and his wife Sandra Powers. Eric Heimburg and Sandra Powers have extensive experience working on MMORPG such as Asheron’s Call 1, Asheron’s Call: Throne of Destiny, EverQuest II and Star Trek Online.
With the last day of winter rapidly approaching, it’s time we take a look at the best newly released MMORPGs that came out between fall of last year (September 2017) and winter of this year (March 2018). This top list is based on the games’ order of releases, since I know that’s the most convenient for those looking to play the latest games available.
Earlier this week, Elder Games Studio launched the open beta of Project: Gorgon on Steam on March 12, 2018. The game is known for staying true to classic gameplay experience, having little to no training wheels or hand-holding, as well as adult content and humorous quests.
So far the reviews are at the Very Positive level with most pros including the old school gameplay vibes, class-less progression, extensive crafting and adult humor. The cons are overwhelmingly about the graphics being outdated, but also lots of mentions of the $40 pricing being too high for what the game has to offer. Take into consideration that players have only had less than a week to play the game, so we will keep an eye and see how the ratings evolve.
