Bless Online’s Global Steam Version Is Shutting Down On September 9th – What’s Left For The Bless IP?

Bless-Online-Global-Steam-English-Version-Shutting-Down-In-All-Regions-Leaving-Bless-Unleashed-To-Carry-The-IP

Following the recent closure notice of the Japanese version of Bless Online, developer and publisher Neowiz has officially announced that the global Steam version of the game will also be shutting down on September 8th, 2019. The closure will take place exactly one month after Bless Japan shuts down.

As we reported last week, Bless Online’s Global version on Steam has consistently performed poorly with a current average of 209 players in the last 30 days and similar numbers for the past five months.

When the global version shuts down, Bless on PC will no longer be playable in any region. The fate of the Bless IP will rely on Bandai’s Unreal Engine 4 iteration of Bless on Xbox One titled ‘Bless Unleashed‘. Bless Unleashed ran a four day closed beta testing in April 2019. No word has been given out in regards to open beta testing.

Bless Online Set To Launch 10-Player Urdaata Raid Dungeon Despite All Time Low Playerbase In 2019

Bless-Online-Urdaata-Fortress-Dungeon-PvE-10-Man-Group-Party-Raid-Despite-Declining-Playerbase-On-Steam-Charts-At-All-Time-Low-In-2019

Bless Online is set to release a new content update that will open up the ‘Urdaata War Fortress’ dungeon. On February 20th, 10-player raid groups will be able to challenge the new level 50 dungeon and take on fiery bosses such as Corrupted Aelia, Ikichi, Lava Maglam, and the final boss, Karata. The dungeon can grant players with powerful rare and heroic gear and items, but it has a limit of one entry per week.

According to Steam Charts, Bless Online’s playerbase is currently hanging at 635 average players, which is nearly at the same level as its all-time low in September 2018 when it was still a buy-to-play title. The game managed to catch the attention of some players when it launched as a free-to-play title at the end of October, but the hype seemed to have quickly faded. Perhaps Bless Online’s Urdaata Fortress raid will cause another bump in players, but something tells me it will not be enough to break the game’s current downward slope in population. Keep in mind that Bless Online’s English global version is only playable through Steam.

The yearly list of the 100 best selling games on Steam for 2018 as measured by gross revenue has been posted and as usual, a handful MMORPGs have been included. They are the games that made the most revenue on the platform this year. The list is categorized into tiers of Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Likely due to the Summerset expansion in June and Murkmire/Wolfhunter content, The Elder Scrolls Online climbed from last year’s Gold tier ranking to this year’s Platinum tier, the highest level on the list. ESO is joined by Warframe in the Platinum tier.
