Phoenix Labs has announced that Dauntless, the action-packed monster-hunt multiplayer RPG will be leaving early access as it launches its 1.0 update on September 26th. The game hit early access on PS4 and Xbox One just months ago in May and already has plans to release on Nintendo Switch later this year.

Update 1.0, titled Aether Unbound will be the biggest update to the game so far. A new weapon called Aether Strikers will be added for players to wield. This will come in handy when facing the powerful new Dire Behemoth that now makes its way to the Shattered Isles.

Nintendo Switch players are getting another monster-hunting action co-op RPG! At E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), indie developer Phoenix Labs announced that Dauntless will be playable on Nintendo Switch later this year.

Dauntless is a free-to-play game and is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Phoenix Labs’ vision is to provide full cross-play between all consoles. Players will be able to continue their journey on the Nintendo Switch when it releases for that console.

Developer Phoenix Labs has announced that the first major content pack of the multiplayer action RPG Dauntless will arrive in August 2018. The content pack is called The Coming Storm which will include a new weapon, new challenges and a new area called Ostia. Dauntless states that players will be able to “play it free”.

Phoenix Labs’ CEO and Co-founder Jesse Houston and Director of Marketing Nick Clifford also revealed new information about upcoming content for Dauntless in an E3 2018 interview. Jesse states that in about eight weeks, a new behemoth and the sixth weapon type will make their way into the game. The next weapon will be a completely range weapon.

Indie developer Phoenix Labs has posted that Dauntless, their monster slayer multiplayer ARPG has reached the major milestone of 1,000,000+ registered players. The game launched its official free-to-play open beta testing phase today. Anyone can begin their behemoth slaying journey by downloading Dauntless from the official site. As is typical with open beta launches, players are reportedly experiencing loads of issues. In particular there are problems with the game’s matchmaking system, low FPS, crashing and areas failing to load.

With the open beta coming so soon for the upcoming multiplayer co-op monster hunting game Dauntless, developer and publisher Phoenix Labs has released the game’s intro cinematic. The video introduces the game’s floating island setting and the the start of what all players of Dauntless will be participating in: hunting behemoths.

Over 100,000 players have already participated in Dauntless’ closed beta and at least another 700,000 players are confirmed to be registered for the upcoming open beta on May 24th. During the open beta, all players will have unlimited access to the floating islands of Dauntless. The game’s open beta was previously expected to release back in 2017, so Phoenix Labs has had time to build up a long list of excited players. Sign up on the official Dauntless site to play the open beta later this week.
