On December 12th, Amazon Game Studios announced the launch date of the upcoming 16th – 17th century fantasy MMORPG New World at The Game Awards 2019 event held in Los Angeles. The open world MMO is fully launching in May 2020. The final business model for the game has not been announced yet.
The monster catching MMO TemTem will finally launch into Early Access at the start of next year. On January 21st, 2020, players will be able to access an early version of the game on Steam. They will be able to explore three islands, fight against 4 Boss Dojos and tame 76 possible TemTem in the co-op world. The game’s full version will have six islands.
It has been nearly a year since Black Desert Mobile released in Asia and now Pearl Abyss will finally allow Western players and the whole global fanbase to play the game! Black Desert Mobile will launch globally on December 11th 2019.
A new indie-developed MMORPG titled Reign of Darkness has launched into Early Access. While still in development, the game is currently a tab-target, theory-crafting, dragon-runner and RPG game based on Dungeons & Dragons concepts. Check out the videos below for gameplay and development footage.
The sandbox MMORPG Legends of Aria developed by Citadel Studios announced that the game’s upcoming ‘New Dawn‘ update will be released next month on December 5th. The update will add brand new content, features, and the much awaited free-to-play option to the game. Free players will have access to almost all of the game’s content, “but will need to purchase a Citizen’s Pass to build a home, launch a player-run shop, unlock your bank’s full capacity, play on Community Servers, and more”.
During Xbox X019, the annual Xbox celebration event held in London, Phil Spencer, the head executive of Microsoft’s Xbox division confirmed that Square Enix‘s popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to the Xbox One console. No details or release dates have been mentioned.
From now until November 13th, the base version of the popular MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is free to play on all platforms. The game is playable on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. This allows gamers to get a glimpse of ESO’s content and gameplay before embarking in the game’s several buy-to-play expansions such as the new Dragonhold DLC that released just weeks ago.
Developer Jagex has launched the mobile version of the long-running MMORPG RuneScape into Early Access. RuneScape Mobile is now available for download on the the Google play store for Android users. iOS mobile users will need to wait until sometime next year. The game is also set to fully launch in 2020.
MMOs or ‘massively multiplayer online games’ are capable of supporting hundreds to thousands of players on the same server.
