ArcheAge: Unchained, the proclaimed “no pay-to-win” buy-to-play iteration of one of the best sandbox MMORPG of all time is finally launching tomorrow, October 15th, at 10AM PDT for NA and 10AM UTC for EU. The release was initially meant to arrive on September 30th, but was pushed back to ensure that game mechanics will be balanced from the start.
Gamigo has released a new ArcheAge video showing the enhanced graphics that will come with the Shadows Revealed update on September 30th. Players on the original free-to-play ArcheAge servers and those who will join the new buy-to-play ArcheAge: Unchained servers will see drastic graphic improvements done to several areas of Erenor.
Gamigo‘s buy-to-play relaunch of ArcheAge dubbed ‘ArcheAge: Unchained‘ has been given a release date. Servers will officially open on September 30th. Many community questions have also been answered thanks to the latest Twitch livestream by Gamigo’s ArcheAge team. Founders Packs are now being offered starting at $25.99 on the official ArcheAge: Unchained site.
In celebration of ArcheAge‘s upcoming Echoes of Hiram content update, the ArcheAge Team is holding an event extravaganza on the game’s PTS (Public Test Server). Testers will be able to explore the new Eastern Hiram Mountains and win event prizes for their characters in the live servers. Festivities begin on June 24th 9AM PDT.
The absolute strongest warriors in ArcheAge have a new enemy to battle in the Karkasse Ridgelands. Meseth, The Red Dragon is no longer the only massive world boss to terrorize the land and seas. ArcheAge’s latest update brings forth her brother, Ferath, The Black Dragon and he is hungry for vengeance!
The fearsome Black Dragon has a variety of skills that make him more powerful than the red dragon. Terrifying Roar locks his enemies in place and Dragon’s Meteorite sends them straight to the Nui.
Trion Worlds, known for publishing and developing MMOs such as ArcheAge, Defiance and Rift has been acquired by Gamigo, a Germany-based game publisher known for publishing free-to-play MMOs and browser games. The official statement posted on the Rift forums says that Trion will be under new ownership, but the games they publish will continue on in capable hands.
The acquisition involves letting go of some of Trion’s staff. The full extent and details of the transition has yet to be revealed. For more information, visit the official Rift forums and Trion Worlds site.
The newest major content expansion is on its way to Western version of ArcheAge. Trion Worlds has announced that ArcheAge’s 5.0 expansion called ‘Relics of Hiram’ will arrive on October 24th. Relics of Hiram (5.0+) will add the first ever new skill set called ‘Malediction’. This means that players will be able to play with a total of 45 new class combinations!
To better balance the game’s server populations, several ArcheAge servers will be merged, or “evolved”, as Trion Worlds calls it on October 17-18. Both North American and European servers will be affected. While the new server names have not been finally chosen yet, we know which servers will be merged.
