MapleStory 2 has drawn a lot of attention lately with the highly anticipated English version’s closed beta announced to arrive globally on May 9th. What you may not know is that MapleStory 2 already has two other existing and regularly updated versions; the Chinese version and the slightly older Korean version. Well, we all know where the money is in the gaming industry at the moment, so it’s not too surprising to hear that even the adorable Maple world is set have a battle royale PvP mode.

Nicknamed Mush King Championship, the survival PvP mode will allow up to 50 people to join a special arena where they will eliminate each other until only a single player remains. You can watch the Korean developer’s video below to see it in action (starting at 0:30 in the video).

Moonlight Blade (Wuxia MMORPG) Adds Battle Royale PvP Mode

The upcoming Wuxia-themed MMORPG Moonlight Blade has decided to join the Battle Royale craze with a new PvP map where players can turn into cats to sneak around, fight bosses for temporary powerful items and battle to the death.

While there have been nearly countless clones and renditions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite created by Eastern game developers, traditional MMORPGs have mostly stayed away from the rapidly-growing Battle Royale craze. However, in the recent few months there is a noticeably large influx of MMORPG developers attempting to catch the eyes of the seemingly overnight success we call the Battle Royale fan-base.

Lost Ark’s Korean Closed Beta 3 is on its way and sign ups will begin on April 19th! This will be the game’s final Korean Closed Beta before it heads to open beta later this year. Now that it is one major step closer to a Western release, the hype-meter for both its native and overseas fans will surely rise.

Closers KR Teases 4th Job, New Mystic Character & New Dungeon For 2018 Development Update

The Korean version of Closers has just revealed several exciting news coming to the game in the summer and beyond. Keep in mind that while En Masse’s English version is releasing characters at a good pace with Tina’s release only three days ago, the original Korean version is still more than half a dozen characters ahead with even more coming soon. This is very exciting news and gives Western players even more to look forward to.

Upcoming 14th Character

Closers (KR) as of now has 13 characters and Nexon has revealed that the 14th addition to the roster will be released in July! The class name will be Mystic, but a character name has not been revealed yet. Based on the silhouette below, it’s highly likely that the character is a girl. However I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s certain since there are existing characters that would be very difficult to label with only a silhouette like Misteltein.

Black Desert Online Adds Maewha As 12th Character (SEA)

Maewha, the female blader has made her way as the latest playable character in Black Desert Online‘s SEA version. Maewha becomes part of the roster only one week after her male counterpart, Musa was brought in. Both are sword-wielding classes that fight with oriental-styled martial arts to execute chain combos. Maewha is especially powerful in single combat situations.

Peria Chronicles Will Have Advanced AI For NPCs To Generate Content

What’s that? You want a release date? Nope, nothing more than “possibly this” and “probably that” for now. Last we heard of Peria Chronicles, we were supposed to get some important news in December of last year and so far that’s still a no-show. Worry not however, when a date is finally announced for this game, we will let you know right away and swiftly update our Alphas, Betas and Release Dates page.

ThingSoft, the developers of Peria Chronicles will be applying an artificial intelligence system that is currently being developed by Nexon Korea to the game’s NPCs. This AI will allow the NPCs to automatically generate missions and other content for players.

Details as to how this will work were not mentioned, but I can guess that these smart NPCs may create based on surrounding player activity. This will be a sweet addition to the list of advanced sand-box features of Peria that include player-made dungeons and player-programmed mechanisms like elevators.
